Regarding Moving Companies
How can we stop Scam / Illegal business's from reopening months later under another name?
Motor Carrier numbers and DOT numbers take time to be updated into the Federal Registries. This means, when you do a search on the company, you don't see the "F" rating.
How can the consumer protect itself.
There is no legislation to help the consumer. That makes it a civil matter.
You won't ever collect.

Unfortunately there would be no way to keeping up with new companies as more and more spring up everyday. But consumer awareness is the best prevention. Consumers such as yourself that have had poor experiences with a company and post their review is one way and we thank you! But not every consumer researches a company before signing on the dotted line, making it easier for these scam companies to victimize others.
For the above reasons and many others Trustlink was created. This forum brings consumers such as yourself and potential customers of companies together.
