Worse experience ever!!
WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER!! SCAMMERS!! I had to relocate from Irvine, CA to Orlando, FL during the COVID-19 pandemic. I chose Rhino Relocation to handle moving my household goods (HHG). I had a one bedroom apartment. Paul and I went over my items to make sure I was allocating enough space. He calculated my items would need 500 cubic sq ft and the price was $2165. I paid the deposit of $458 and scheduled my move. We spoke a couple of days before my pickup day. I had majority of all items packed and was able to tell him exactly what was being moved. He seen no reason to add more space, the item list was pretty much the same. The day of my move, the movers (Maurice and George) took one at my items and immediately told me I would need more than 500 cubic sq feet. Maurice said I would need 800 cubic sq feet. I questioned him as to why was it such a huge difference. He proceeded to get angry and threaten to cancel my move. He said the office always quotes a different price, but he knows how much space is really needed. Maurice drew up new papers with the 800 cubic sq feet and the price went from $2165 to $3404. Seventy percent of that amount was due right then, and I had to borrow money from family and friends to cover the cost. I was distraught and felt stuck, as I had to get my things moved and had no time to schedule a new company plus I would lose my deposit. The movers started loading my items. I stood in my kitchen the whole time, because they had removed their masks and I was in disbelief at the amount I was being charged. Once all the items were loaded, I looked at the truck and my items did not take up 800 cubic square ft. It was only at 550 sq feet. I mentioned this to Maurice, he laughed and again threaten to remove my items from the truck. I reluctantly signed the papers. After that day, I was in the process of getting myself to Orlando and handling family business to get situated. One week later I called to see where my items were and to discuss the incident with the corporate office. I spoke with Paul again, and he agreed I should not pay for more space than I allocated and said he would look into the incident and would get back to me the following Tuesday. Tuesday came, I did not hear from Paul. I called his office on Wednesday (5/6). He told me that my items were being loaded on the truck in California. I asked why were my items sitting in California for 10 days. He got frustrated and yelled at me that they've had cancellations and things were backed up due to Covid 19. After he calmed down, I asked had he had a chance to check into the incident we talked about. He told me that Operations would have to talk to me about that, he has no idea what happens when the trucks are being loaded and they won't give him that information. My uncle called on Monday (5/11) and spoke with Paul. He said Paul was very rude to him and over talked him. Paul basically had no information and gave my uncle the operations 800 number. After my uncle spoke with them, i received the email my things were being loaded on the truck. My items did not arrive until Sunday (5/24) a month later. The items arrived in a semi truck and was able to park next to my building. He said he would have to charge me for the extra distance. He measure the distance at 371 feet. He said it was company policy to give the first 75 ft free and pay $100 per 50 feet after that. I had to pay an additional $500. Once they started moving the items, they started taking a short cut. I mentioned to the driver that i should be charged for the shortcut path, not the long path he measured. He yelled at me and said that if he remeasure, he will not give me the first 75 ft free, did I want that. Again I was forced to pay more money. When my items were being unloaded, I was able to take pics to show that my items were still not at the 800 cubic square feet mark. There was someone else's things behind my, their items came up to the 250 cubic square mark.
