I used to have a Home Warranty Company called American Home Shield who always seemed to send this company with any type of plumbing problem we had. I cannot count the number of times they failed to keep the appointment time as the technicians were always late. However the most recent episode I had was a problem with the water heater pilot light. Two technicians came out and misdiagnosed the problem. The last one recommended replacing the water heater because there was a supposed leak, while wanting to charge me over $200 for "upgrading" the installation. Well I called the manufacturer as they did not believe Rite-A-Way's diagnosis of a leak. The technician from the other company told me a leak was not possible because my tank was hollow. They sent their own contracted company out and was able to properly diagnose my problem.
