***Selling practices I think are deceptive or otherwise improper***
Finance manager tried to scam my husband & I today, as we were trying to purchase a vehicle.
He and the fleet manager tried to pull the "Lie To The Customer About Their Credit Score" Scam, by presenting us with printouts of an experian score almost 100 points below our actual score, which I bought on experian.com the night before. Score was 715 when I checked, but only 628 according to finance manager. With this, they said we could only get financed by Volvo at 12.99%. Ridiculous. We almost walked out, so they presented us with approval from Chase at 8.69%. So we stayed. We started signing all the paperwork, and manager comes back and tries to pull the "Financing Fell Through Scam" and said that Chase has made a mistake and now wanted us to put $9000 down instead of $5000 which was what we had agreed on. When they did this, my husband tore all the paperwork to shreds, we got up and left. They later called and said that Chase had made a mistake and that we could get the better rate again. At this point, we had already made up our mind, were 10 miles away and furious that our intelligence had been insulted in this way. The finance manager name is Alex Banuelos, the fleet manager is Michael.
These dealership scams will never stop if finance mangers don't feel any heat for trying to pull these scams. They keep on doing this to consumers because there is no consequence. This insanity must stop.
